Seit zwei Jahren bewundere ich die schönen Kreationen der "Historical Sew Fortnightly" Teilnehmer. Jedesmal denke ich mir, dass ich solche schönen und teilweise auch komplizierten Sachen niemals in 2 Wochen hinbekomme. Schon allein die Recherche für die einzelnen Stücke nimmt doch Zeit in Anspruch. Und wenn da sowas wie Leben noch reinfunkt, dann komme ich ja zu nix mehr. Dieses Jahr hat es mich dann doch so gereizt, zumal ich mich zum bloggen entschieden habe und so vielleicht auch ein bißchen mehr Austausch habe. Außerdem ist ein Monat Zeit für ein Projekt doch besser als zwei Wochen. Ein paar Challenges bereiten mir trotzdem noch Kopfschmerzen....
Die erste Aufgabe habe ich schon erledigt. Es ist nichts aufregendes oder besonders hübsches. Aber es ist trotzdem ein wichtiger Bestandteil jeder historischen Garderobe: der Unterrock. Ich besaß bisher nur einen und wollte noch einen zweiten. Es war ein kurzes schmerzloses Projekt. Der einfache Rock besteht aus weißer Baumwolle. Aus derselben fertigte ich auch das Taillenband an. Die Zutaten waren bereits vorhanden.

Since two years I´ve been marvelling at the amazing creations that were made by all the seamstresses in the Dreamstress´s historical sew fortnightly. I thought I were never be able to sew such beautiful things in two weeks. The fortnightly challenges were not manageable for me. This year the deadlines are monthly, so I decided to take part and hope to reach my goal to sew every month a little thing. Anyway I am a little bit nervous about some challenges. I will keep it simple.
The first challenge is done. I needed some underpetticoats. I have one but need a second one and so: it is a petticoat of plein white cotton. It is nothing then a cotton fabric gathered into a waistband. It is not pretty but it works.

Year: ca. mid to end 18th c.
Notions: threads, cotton tape
How historically accurate is it? Pattern and fabric are accurate for the 18th century but I sewed with my machine. So it is not very accurate for an 18th c. underpetticoat.
